Packed for the Dempster Highway

After lots of futzing around I finally got my Big Dummy loaded for the Dempster Highway. I've got quite a lot of stuff, but it isn't too heavy as I've got clothes to deal with +5 to +30 deg C weather including rain, sleeping bag, thermarest & tent. All of which is bulky, but light. The unfortunate part about touring solo is that you have to carry the same group gear that would serve 2 or 4 bike tourists and you can't enjoy the economy of scale that a group can.

Looks like it'll be a great trip. When are you leaving? I'm sure you'll be taking a lot of pictures and can't wait the hear how it was.

Have a great trip! Can't wait for the stories and pictures. I'm heading out the door now for my three day trip. One last check of your gear list to see if I forgot anything. I like lists because I'm too lazy to write my own.

I'm preparing to tour the TransAm next summer and I've been debating about whether or not to leave my Xtracycle on or take it off for the tour. I've finally, firmly decided that it's staying on! ..but I can't decide whether or not to use front panniers. It looks like from your recent photos that you've gone with front panniers. Have you toured without the front bags? How do the two different set-ups compare!

Thanks!
